“There is no longer any value in serving up generic or commodity information. With Hummingbird and semantic search, Google is getting better at using machine learning to understand the world’s knowledge base. The main reason for Google Search to exist, from Google’s point of view, is for people to be exposed to AdWords ads, the source of most of Google’s income.”
Trello’s a fantastic free app which is fun to use, and makes planning content workflows a snap. The video outlines a workflow, and you can download the Trello board shown too.
The more you use Trello, the more valuable you’ll find it. You can create your own personal boards, or company-wide boards.
Flipboard’s been updated.
You can create your own “magazines” on the all-new Flipboard
Flipboard’s coming out with version 2, and judging by the video below, it’s nothing short of amazing. You can compile everything you want to read, or just assemble, into glitzy collections, called Magazines.
Robert Scoble calls it “curation I’ve been waiting for“.
Me too. My mind’s buzzing with ways I can can use this feature for my clients, and for me, too.
If Flipboard’s Magazines work as advertised, my concern about finding a Google Reader replacement won’t be as urgent. I still need an RSS reader, but Flipboard 2.0 opens up a whole new world of possibilities for managing content, and content curation.
Watch the video, you’ll be amazed.

Are you posting your videos to YouTube? Log in, and you’ll get a surprise. You can try out One Channel:
You are more than the sum of your uploads. On your new channel, branding works across devices, you can reach out to non-subscribed viewers, and you can show off more of your content so fans will go deeper.
I haven’t played with it, I just uploaded some cover art, as you can see in the image above.
The new design reminds me of Google+, with its new larger image feature.
This has come at a good time for me. This morning I spent an hour outlining some new videos I want to upload. (I was inspired after I did some video scripts for a client.)
YouTube offers some examples of what you can do with One Channel.
I love the idea that you can create a video introduction, for new subscribers. YouTube says:
All your viewers can become subscribers. You just need to win them over. With the new design you can feature a trailer that plays only when non-subscribed viewers land on your channel. This is your chance to let them know what your channel is all about and encourage them to subscribe.
Are you using video marketing? It might be time to take a look, if you aren’t. Your YouTube channel will now display well across devices, and you can curate content, as well as creating your own. It’s time to break out of your marketing rut. :-)
Here’s a video intro to One Channel.
