Have you discovered Slideshare? It’s a fun social network, devoted to presentation content. Yes, Slideshare helps ou to get content from your old presentations. Of course, you can also create brand new presentations for Slideshare. I created the slide deck above, and posted it to the site a couple of weeks ago.
If you’re wondering why you’d bother with Slideshare, this post, SlideShare, How to Market Your Business With This Growing Platform | Social Media Examiner, has the answer:
” Pure traffic. SlideShare is one of the highest-traffic sites on the Internet, receiving over 60 million unique visitors every month. It gives sheer exposure to your potential audience and SlideShare credibility for search engines.
You’ll discover amazing things that can happen when you use the same content from your website on SlideShare. The inter-play between content and distribution in one place is very unique in terms of what SlideShare delivers.”
I’m sure you’re wondering HOW MUCH traffic you can get from Slideshare.
Ana Hoffman’s done well. Here’s her Slideshare case study:
Over 200K views.
Several first-page Google rankings.
1,400 clicks to Traffic Generation Café and my Facebook fan page.
Over 400 new Facebook fans.
I’m relatively new to Slideshare, but one of the things I love about the site is that they send you weekly updates on your stats. Although I haven’t promoted my decks, I’ve managed to get around 4,000 views.
That’s enough to keep me interested in the site. I wish I had more time to devote to it, but I’m too busy writing and promoting in other ways.
If you haven’t used Slideshare, give it a try… You’ll get traffic — obviously as with everything, the more you put into it, the better your results will be.
