The Most Important Page On Your Site: Use It

What’s the most important page on your site?

Think, think, think…

If you said that it’s your About page, you’re right.

No one cares what you say, if they don’t know who you are. When I’m working with my copywriting clients, I spend a lot of time on their About page.

Clients never think about this page. After all, they know who they are, and so do their clients.

But…

* Their prospects don’t know who they are

* The search engines don’t know who they are

WHO you are, WHAT you do, HOW you do it, and WHY you do it is vital information.

As Chris Brogan says at About About About:

“But YOU, because you’re smart, because you’re new here, because you need to know who’s talking with you, click my ABOUT page more than anything else.”

Go and check your About page right now. Does it describe exactly who you are, and why your site’s visitors should trust you?

Big tip: skip the business-speak and other obfuscations on your About page. Be clear and be direct.

Here’s a case study to show that your About page can lift conversions up to 30 percent.
