Marketing: It’s Not One Thing, It’s Everything

by Angela Booth on October 3, 2012

Everyone wants a magic bullet for their marketing. There isn’t one.

It’s not Pay Per Click. Would that it were. You could buy clicks, and get business.

It’s not social media. Again, would that it were. You could create a Facebook page, get a zillion “likes” and be off to the races with great business.

It’s not content marketing. Brilliant content can languish, unnoticed and unread.

It’s everything, all together.

As this article, 34 Social Media Truths in a Nut Shell | The Marketing Nut, points out:

“Generated high quality leads, clients and sales from all of the above. It was not one single thing that drove results. It was the integrated platform and plan aligned with specific business and marketing goals.”

Start with your goals

Everything starts with your goals. That’s the first thing I ask my copywriting clients: what do you want to achieve?

Once the client is clear on that, we can develop a marketing campaign which achieves those goals.

The campaign will include content marketing, and social media, as well as some advertising. However, it’s the entire package which achieves results.
