Domain names - WHAT was I thinking?
If you’re not into domaining (buying domain names as an investment) this post won’t mean much to you. But if you do have a portfolio of domain names, I’m sure you can relate to the “WHAT was I thinking?” feeling which hits you when you scan lists of domain purchases you’ve made.
I’ve bought some truly weird domains. Time to move some of them along.
My general strategy when selling a domain is to sell it as a mini site, of anywhere from five to ten pages. I create the site, and let it age. Once it has PR, it’s time to sell.
Although I’ve never sold just a domain, this post intrigues me. Domain Name Wire » News » Update: Selling Domain Names on eBay - The Domain Industry’s News Source reports:
“I’ve decided to give eBay another shot, but this time as a seller. And with a good domain, not some piece of junk. My experience listing the domain — Headcase.com — reminds me why eBay isn’t set up to be a domain seller.”
I’ve never considered eBay as a place to sell domains, but I’ll go and take a look.
Make money writing Web sites
If you can use a word processor, you can write Web sites.
Many writers shy away from creating Web sites… they imagine it’s too techy, too complex. It’s not. A small simple site can begin earning money for you very quickly. As a rule of thumb, if you’ve created a site in an area in which there are advertisers you can start earning five to ten dollars a day per site. Now $10 a day isn’t much. But what if you had ten sites all earning $10 day? That’s $100 a day, which is $36,500 a year, just from ten simple sites. What if you had 20 such sites, all earning you $10 a day - or even more - in fact, some sites will earn you $100 a day? “Super-Fast Money-Making Web Sites For Writers: Join The Web-Publishing Bonanza” shows you how.
