Article marketing and click through rates

by angela.booth on May 11, 2008

I’m a huge fan of article marketing. I’ve seen the effectiveness of this unique form of advertising not only in my businesses, but also in my clients’ businesses.

If you’ve got $1000 to spend on promotion this month; spend it on article marketing. You’ll be reaping the rewards in traffic and sales for many years to come.

Over the past weeks “click throughs” have been discussed as a way of measuring the effectiveness of article marketing.

However, I agree with Chris Knight. Forget click throughs. In Article Writing & Marketing Insights – EzineArticles Blog » Your URL Clicks Divided By Total Articles Chris suggests:

“Worry less about scoring big numbers with a handful or articles and instead focus on covering your niche expertise in greater article volume & depth. Too many members focus a core chunk of their energy on over-optimizing existing content when they could focus the same energy on expanding their article inventory.”

Amen to that. :-)
