Send your PPC customers to the relevant landing page
In Pay Per Click advertising, you’re targeting people who want to goods you’re selling, and you’ll get a better conversion rate if you create a landing page for each campaign.
This article Easy Quick PPC Top 10 Tips contains great tips, including: “5. Avoid your home page as your landing page
The landing page is the page that the person who clicked on your ad will see when they come through to your site. Don’t use your homepage as your landing page unless it deals only with selling the product you’re advertising. For instance, if you’re selling posters, have a landing page for ‘flower’ posters and a landing page for ‘car’. You can even go one better and have a landing page for each poster - so you’ll have a page for ’sunflower posters’ and ‘bmw 5 series posters’.
Land people in the relevant place.”
Plan your ad campaigns before you go live. Create ads which are matched to your landing pages; it’s worth the extra effort.
It’s very easy for your customers to click away if they feel that they’ve arrived at the wrong page, so ensure that doesn’t happen. Make your landing pages specific to each ad, and you’ll have better results - your conversion rate will go up.
