Does your business blog?

Paul Gillin is writing a book about social media called The New Infuencers, to be published in 2007. As he writes the book, he’s posting chapters online.

From the Introduction:

In January, 2004, there were about 1 million blogs on the Internet. A year later, there were 8 million and the year after that, more than 30 million. To date, the total is well past 50 million and climbing. The revolution whose demise I forecast in December, 2003 had, in fact, not even begun. And the way this one is shaping up, it will be the biggest change to hit the media and marketing industries since television.

If your business doesn’t have a blog, you’re missing an easy way to get your business free publicity and attention. I’ve just finished a new book on blogging, called Blogging For Dollars. Although it’s aimed at freelance bloggers, it has a lot of information on why blogs are big right now, and why they’ll continue to be influential.
