Search engine optimization and writing for people seems antithetical to some SEO engineers. However, a competent SEO copywriter knows her audience, and both what will get them to a site, and what will induce people to buy.

Copy that includes well-researched keywords and is targeted at people rather than the search engines, is vital. Google has lowered the hammered on low-quality pages in PPC, and natural search won’t be far behind.

Tip: write for people first, but remember the search engines.
