Real SEO: you can’t fake it

by angela.booth on July 28, 2006

Would you like to rank in one of the top ten places in the search engine results’ pages for your chosen keywords? I’ll bet you would. I would too. But… if someone comes along and makes you that proverbial offer that you can’t refuse, be strong. Refuse it.

Thomas Baekdal’s “Search Engine Optimization – Just forget it” tells a sad story, read it, and be warned.

He suggests that you forget about the search engines and focus on making your site useful for people:

This involves:

1. Write interesting content

3. Use a clear language

3. Don’t clutter you site with junk

Wise words. If you’ve got a domain which must stay in the search engines, don’t risk doing anything (or allow someone else to do stuff on your behalf) that will get you banned.
