Are you using Really Simple Syndication (RSS) to distribute your Web site’s content? Althought RSS has yet to hit the mainstream, savvy marketers know that offering feeds is an easy way to increase their site’s traffic.

One of the major benefits of adding a blog to your Web site is that blogs have built-in RSS. However, you don’t need a blog, you can syndicate the content on any Web page, by burning your own feeds –”burning” a syndication feed is easy with Feedburner. You simply type in the URL you want to syndicate, and Feedburner creates the feed for you. Paste the HTML code into your Web page, and, just like magic, your site’s visitors can now subscribe to the feed.

The search engine Ask.com now offers a Blogs and Feeds search on its main page.

Here’s an excellent option: subscribing to search feeds. When you search (I’ve searched for “marketing” in the image below), your search is available via RSS. Just click on the Subscribe button on the right side of the tab bar at the top of the screen to subscribe to the search.

Note: Feedburner lets you track who subscribes to your feeds and when, giving you built-in analytics for free.
