You’ve got a new Web site, and you’d like to get Google traffic to it. But months pass, and there’s no sign of your site in Google’s index for any of your chosen keywords.

You’re probably seeing what’s been called the “Google Sandbox Effect” in action. Here’s an article from David Wallace which explains it: “How To Play In Google’s Sandbox”.

Four ways to escape the Sandbox:

1. Create a blog
Google loves blogs, and indexes them FAST. Create a blog on your site, and start posting to the blog frequently, once a day if you can manage it. It’s essential that you link to your site’s internal pages from your blog’s postings - you’ll encourage the Googlebot (indexer) to follow the links.

2. Become visible online
You can create visibility for yourself in various ways: write news releases and post them to sites like PRWeb, and write articles for article directories like EzineArticles.

3. Take out advertising on blogs
Yes, blogs again. As stated, Google loves them, and indexes blogs speedily. Because blog advertising is new, you should be able to get some ads for your site at minimal cost.

4. Add more content to your site
Google loves blogs because they’re content, and for its vast AdSense network, Google needs lots of real estate. Post your articles and news releases to your site. Don’t forget to create internal links between relevant pages in your site.

So there you have it: implement some of these tactics and your site will bounce out of Sandbox hell.
