Whether you’re thinking of buying a kitten or a waterfront property, you’ll do initial research online.
In “Online Marketing For Offline Buying” Jason Lee Miller talks about a startup called StepUp Commerce:
Focusing on the small, independent retailer StepUp syndicates product content, sending it out to online destinations like Froogle, SuperPages, and Price Runner, searchable by zip code. The company creates one Webpage per product with descriptions, store contact information, and maps, and then optimizes the pages to be found in the local search engines.
It’s an excellent idea. And it’s an idea worth incorporating into your marketing yourself. Make sure that when buyers are looking for your products, that they can find you and your location.
