SEO archives of newsletters, press releases and marketing info

Excellent post at “Anatomy of a Blog/Newsletter Archive”. It’s a great reminder to archive all your marketing materials on your site with a view to the SEO advantage.

For example, I’m in the process of writing articles to promote my new blogging ebook. I’m publishing the articles on the book’s blog first, but as soon as I complete the rest of the site, I’ll be moving the articles to their own archive — AND I’m planning to link to them from other areas of the site.

The challenge with “past its use-by date”, older material like newsletters, press releases, articles etc is to lead your site’s visitors to them by integrating them into your newest content.

There’s a link in the “Anatomy of a Blog/Newsletter Archive” to Jill Whalen’s newsletter archive, which is a real model for the all of us on how to do this.
