Let me tell you about an amazing customer-service experience I had earlier today. Bar none, it’s the BEST service I’ve had, online or offline, in the past 20 years.

I’m developing a Joomla-based site, so I was scouting the Web and came across SiteGround’s Joomla hosting service. It sounded great and was inexpensive, so I decided to go ahead and sign up. I forgot I was using Safari, which can be flakey when it comes to secure sites (I usually switch to Firefox), and after I’d entered all my info the page hung. I waited a few minutes, but nothing happened. The page was stuck. I cursed myself for not remembering to switch to Firefox.

Finally I looked around on the site and found the Contact Me page, so I sent off an email asking whether my purchase had gone through.

Of course I promptly forgot all about it, thinking I’d get an email in another day or two; it was the weekend after all.

BUT — the phone rang, not ten minutes later. (And this on a Sunday morning in Sydney Australia.) A sales rep from SiteGround assured me that yes, I was good to go, my site was ready to set up.

Amazing service, just amazing. Please note: I’ve got no connection with SiteGround at all — not affiliated in any way, and only found them when I was surfing. I am just thrilled that on a weekend, someone from a hosting company would CALL. When was the last time YOU had service like that?:-)

I’m rapt.
