Do you use PLR articles on your sites? Because of the duplicate-content issue, they can do you more harm than good.
I’ve been rewriting PLR articles for a couple of clients, and I have to say — it’s easier to write most of the articles from scratch. Most PLR articles aren’t worth using on sites that you MUST keep indexed, and which you are building for long-term gains.
Yes, I know, it’s a downer.
If you MUST use PLR articles (on a site that you don’t care that much about), here are some quick ways to customize them and with luck, eliminate some of the duplicate-content dangers:
* Change the title, and the sub-headings. If the article has no sub-headings, create them;
* Rewrite the introduction and the ending;
* Add more content — anywhere at all in the article.
The best way to rehabilitate these articles is to use them as a jumping-off point for your own ideas and words — don’t rely on them for primary content, and again, with emphasis, don’t use them in sites that you really care about.
