EBay has announced that it’s releasing four new APIs, one of which is the Contextual Keywords API. This is in direct competition with Google AdSense, and the various other contextual advertising options.
It’ll be fascinating to see how this plays out. In spite of its purchase of Skype, eBay seemed to be in the doldrums for most of this year. This new contextual advertising revitalizes the eBay landscape, and can only be good for eBay’s hundreds of thousand of sellers.
And of course, it promises great things for online publishers, especially bloggers. Hmmm… gotta get another blog, or two, or …
