A cluttered links page with a thousand and one links may be doing you more harm than good in the search engine results. If your site took a hit after Google’s BigDdady update, why not develop a better linking-to-partners strategy?
Here are some ideas:
* Eliminate your “Links” page completely and develop an editorial linking policy (more on this in another post.)
* Link to your link partners from your blog, by reviewing their offerings. You can ask your partners to give you 100 to 200 words for your blog entry, this saves you writing it yourself.
* Scatter your links throughout your content. If you take this route, use scripts to automate the process. You can post links in the third column in a three-column layout, or in a Links div if you’re using CSS.
* Turn your links into News. Create a news page on your site, and as partners request links, have them write 100 words of news about their business and post that.
