Blogging takes anywhere from half an hour to an hour per blog item. If you’re convinced that blogging will help your business, and that you MUST get a blog, there’s a major challenge: finding the time.

Here are some ideas on how to make time for blogging:

1. Blog in the margins of your life. Make a list of ten blogging topics. Base the list on keywords that you would like to rank well for in the search engines. Write the posts while you’re waiting for meetings to start, between appointments, and whenever you have a moment. These don’t need to be long items, just scrawl or write a few sentences to give you a kickstart when you write each blog post.

2. Blog after-hours. Get to work an hour early, and write two blog posts. Write a blog post after work, before you leave for home. Or, write your blog items on the weekend.

3. If you spend a lot of time on the computer, keep a text editor open on your desktop and write a blog item in between other tasks.

4. Delegate blogging. Make a list of blog items and ask someone else to write rough drafts. Edit the drafts, and post the items to your blog.

5. Talk your blog items into a digital recorder when you’re taking your daily walk, or while you’re pounding the treadmill at the gym.

You CAN find the time to blog. Tip: finding the time is only difficult when you’re starting your blog. After your fourth blog post, you’ll find that blogging comes more easily.
