6. If your Web site is small, make your blog your Web site (blog your business)

MarketingProfs.com offers a brilliant article with links to small businesses which are using blogs in innovative ways to drive their business. One company doubled its revenues using a blog.

One idea, “Establish a blog as your primary Internet presence” seems like a startling concept at first, but why not? If your Web site consists of a static two to four page mini-site, there’s little to keep people returning to the site, and little for the search engines to index.

Developing a blog to become your primary Web presence will generate much more traffic. You can create links to your static site, reserving it for the information that doesn’t change over a year. And of course, since your blog is so easy to update, you’ll be able to add information more frequently than you can if you need to contact someone to update your static site.
