Fighting back against spammers

God bless the Guardian Unlimited’s Tech Blog. It’s tracking a guestbook spammer, with the aim of discovering who pays him.

“Follow the money”. Yes, it’s an old journalistic saw, but no less true for that.
(Followup: ah, one of the companies paying the spammer is Nasdaq-quoted. Boy, this is fun, isn’t it? We’ll hold off naming them until they’ve contacted us.)

Excellent! I’ve added a task to iCal so I’ll remember to check this one. Naming and shaming the spammer’s employer may help.
