What’s your mission statement? No, seriously…
Chances are that if you’re a mini or a micro business owner you don’t have a mission statement. If your business/ company is larger, you do have a mission statement, but no one understands it, or cares, or it’s sheer BS.
Great post: life lessons from Startrek:
These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. Her five year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.
“Suppose you are the dumbest person on the ship. How long do you think the mission will last? Five years? Very good. And suppose you encountered a strange new world? What should you do? Explore it, perhaps…Boldly.
(I’ve ordered the book from Alibris.)
My mission statement is just one sentence, which I created earlier this year because I was spreading myself too thin, and needed a focus that I could REMEMBER.
Hmmm… must create a longer mission statement with the word “voyages” in it somewhere. Very evocative.
